Choosing Your Swimming Pool Deck
You have purchased your backyard swimming pool and now you are planning what type of deck to place in it. There are many different things that go into a great backyard swimming pool deck, from the depth of the water, the style and size of the pool decking and the pool cover.
Your choice of deck will depend on where you want the pool to be placed and how much space is available in the shallow area around your pool. If you want the pool to be installed in a corner, then the depth of the pool deck is a consideration. If you have a small corner in your garden or patio then a depth of just one foot is more than adequate. For larger areas you will need a deeper deck which may be achieved by either building it from scratch or purchasing prefabricated pool decks. The cost of such a deck will vary according to its dimensions, material and quality.
The shape of your pool deck will also be an important consideration. While some people prefer a round pool deck which can easily be shaped into a circle or square, other people choose rectangular or oval shaped decks for their pools. Whatever shape you select for your pool deck, you should measure carefully before taking the measurements so that you are satisfied with the results. Be sure to include the height of the ceiling in your total measurements. For some people this will be the deciding factor as well as if they want to use the deck as a floating pool.
